UPCOMING TESTS:
Friday – Weekly phonogram, Spelling
HOMEWORK:
Monday – Write spelling words from list #1 5 times each and make up a sentence for
each word (must do both)
Tuesday – Write spelling words from list #1 5 times each and make up a sentence for
each word (must do both)
Wednesday/Thursday – Language Arts worksheets and/or Math worksheets
Friday – If all students turn in their homework, there will be no weekend homework; otherwise, Language Arts worksheet and/or Math worksheet
FYI:
Our reading campout was a hit! Thanks to all parents for sending in tents and blankets. We will have another reading campout by the end of the year.
A special thank-you to Victoria Flores’s mother for sending in extra snacks.
I collected $20.00 from the last Dress Down Day. The money will go toward glue, construction paper, and Kleenex
Our field trip for Water Safety Day is on March 30. NO CHAPERONES ARE NEEDED FOR THIS TRIP. We will have guides assigned to us and Mrs. Stockton will also be going.
Spelling Bee trials will be next week for the K-2 Spelling Bee held on March 23 (tentative).

On Friday, we will have a reading “campout” in the room. I am requesting that students bring a blanket or sheet to make a tent with and a flashlight. We will be reading and making up stories “under the stars.” We will have popcorn, s’mores and juice while we are sharing stories.
We have started our lessons about water safety in preparation for Water Safety Day in March. Please read all letters sent home about water safety.

UPCOMING TESTS:
Tuesday – Math (telling time)
Friday – Weekly phonogram/Spelling
HOMEWORK:

Yearbooks are on sale for $11.00
Our Valentine’s Party will be on Friday after 12:30. A flyer will go home today with details. Some of the children have requested to dress up and have a mini-dance. This is fine!
On February 17, a local celebrity will be coming in to read to us and Mrs. Soto’s class. Children may be seen on t.v. I will send home permission to photograph slips later on this week.
