From now on, students will take a practice spelling test on Thursdays. Anyone who passes with an 80% or better will not have to take the test on Friday.

Progress folders go home on Mondays. Please look over any work in the folder and read the behavior sheet. There should be no surprises to your child’s progress if this is being done.

The student council will be selling Valentine grams this week for $2.50.

We collected $24.00 last week for dress down. The money is going toward the yearbook.

Our next field trip will be March 30 at Glendale Community College for Water Safety Day. Chaperones will be needed. If anyone would like to go, please plan ahead and get a fingerprint card to the office before this date.

FYI:

Welcome back students! We have lots of work to do to get ready for 2nd grade. So, let’s put our thinking caps back on and work hard for the rest of the year!

ATTENDANCE IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS! Please make sure that your child is at school if not sick. They miss important learning opportunities when frequently absent.

I have a BLOG on the school website that can be accessed at www.ltsphoenix.org
It is generally this newsletter and the spelling words of the week.

Thanks to all parents that helped out on the field trip to Superstition Farms. We all had a fantastic time!

Sincerely,
Beth Hernandez
