We are going on a field trip to a dairy farm on December 8. Cost is $6.00 per person, including chaperones. Only adults over 18 are allowed to go on the field trip along with the students.

Due to the short week, there are only 15 spelling words and there will be no practice test this week.

Parent /teacher conferences are this week. If you have returned the paper for this, I sent a confirmation home before vacation. For those who did not return an appointment paper and need to meet with me, there are still times available on Thursday. Please call for availability.

Please be on time for your conference. If you arrive late or not for your appointment time, you may have to wait because other parents also have a conference scheduled. Please call the office if you are confused on your appointment time or need to cancel.

There are NO appointments scheduled for Tuesday, March 29 due to a mandatory AIMS metting.

FYI:
The field trip to The Phoenix Zoo was wonderful! Thanks to ALL of the chaperones who participated in this. You truly helped make it memorable.

Parent-Teacher conferences are coming up March 31 and April 1. Appointment letters will be going home next week

AIMS testing will be April 11-April 15. Although first grade is not involved, it does effect our schedule during that week. More to come later.

We will have a field trip to the Phoenix Zoo on Tuesday, March 1. The cost is $3.50 per person. I would prefer to have the money before the day of the field trip so that I can plan ahead. Also, students need to bring a sack lunch on that day.

Happy Valentine’s Day!! Thanks to all of the parents who donated food for the Valentine’s celebration.

We are having a reading contest this month. The person who gets the most reading logs turned in will win.

I am trying to plan a field trip to The Phoenix Zoo in early March. The cost will be around $2.00-3.50 per person. I will send home permission forms when details are finalized.

Please DO NOT send sick children to school. Sickness spreads fast in a school environment.

Please make sure that the office has your correct phone number in case they need to call you. If you have changed a work or cell phone number, please send a note or call the office.

Please return report card envelopes signed by next Friday.

We will now have 20 words for spelling instead of 10. This is to prepare students for second grade. Some of the students who are still struggling in spelling will only get one list (10 words). On short weeks, we will only have 15 words. Notice the change in homework for Mondays and Tuesdays.

We will start doing addition speed drills once a week soon. This is to prepare students for second grade, also.

We are still collecting Box Tops for Education.
