Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week, we will be working on the following:

Phonograms 1-70
Telling time
Maps & Early Spanish explorers
Plants needs & parts
Writing a thank you note
Contractions
Reading comprehension
Literacy centers

IMPORTANT DATES:
January 25 – 100th Day of School
January 28 & 29 – Dress Down Days (Pay $1.00 for both days)

UPCOMING TESTS:
Tuesday – Math (counting coins) & Monthly phonogram
Wednesday – Phonic blends
Friday – Spelling

HOMEWORK:
Monday – Write spelling words from list #1 5 times each and make up a sentence for
each word (must do both)

Tuesday – Write spelling words from list #2 5 times each and make up a sentence for
each word (must do both)

Wednesday/Thursday – Language Arts worksheets and/or Math worksheets

Friday – If all students turn in their homework, there will be no weekend homework; otherwise, Language Arts worksheet and/or Math worksheet

FYI:
Please return report card envelopes signed by Friday.

Please have your child bring in leaves by Friday. We will be doing leaf rubbings for Science on Friday.

The student council will be selling Valentine grams soon.

Yo-yo sales are still going on this week.

Our next field trip will be March 30 at Glendale Community College for Water Safety Day. Chaperones will be needed. If anyone would like to go, please plan ahead and get a fingerprint card to the office before this date.
