Dear Parents and Guardians,

WELCOME TO 2010!
This week, we will be working on the following:

Phonograms 1-70
Counting pennies, nickels, and dimes
Ancient Arizona civilizations
Inventors and scientists
How animals grow and change
Reading comprehension
Literacy centers


UPCOMING TESTS:
Friday – Spelling & weekly phonogram

HOMEWORK:
Monday - Write spelling words from list #1 5 times each and make up a sentence for
each word (must do both)

Tuesday – Write spelling words from list #2 5 times each and make up a sentence for
each word (must do both)

Wednesday/Thursday – Language Arts worksheets and/or Math worksheets

Friday – If all students turn in their homework, there will be no weekend homework; otherwise, Language Arts worksheet and/or Math worksheet

Welcome back students! We have lots of work to do to get ready for 2nd grade. So, let’s put our thinking caps back on and work hard for the rest of the year!

ATTENDANCE IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS! Please make sure that your child is at school if not sick. They miss important learning opportunities when frequently absent.
